New naturalization test begins in December 2020

USCIS has changed the civics test that is required for naturalization. The changes are effective December 1, 2020, and apply to naturalization applications filed on or after that date. Some of the questions and answers have changed. Also, the number of test questions for the exam will be 20 (it is currently 10), and the number of correct answers needed to pass the civics test will be 12 (it is currently 6). The test score required to pass (60 percent correct) will not change. The new policy will also be that officers will ask all 20 test items, even if the applicant achieves a passing score.
